Finding the right piece of gear in todays market can be pretty frustrating. I am constantly trying near gear to find what works best for me. I purchased my 1st OV Ridgetop bino harness about three years ago and after going through a season with it I knew it was the right one for me. It is a simple yet efficient design that is very durable and well built. The design makes it very easy to get your glass in and out of the harness with one hand. Look no further if you are in the market for a great USA made harness.
Although there are many bino harnesses around, I looked at a lot before I found one that fitted the pattern of camo I wear while stalking. Living in UK, I looked for a UK distributor for the Ridgetop harness in multicam but couldn't find any UK sellers. After emailing OV to ask who the distributor was, they replied quickly and let me know that they had no UK distributors but that I could order one straight off the website. That process was very simple and the postage was reasonable. After ordering on 22nd January, the package arrived on 5th February. Not a bad delivery time. The sizing guide on the webpage was excellent and my Leica Trinovid 7x42s fit nicely into the medium sized pouch. The quality of the stitching and construction of the pouch and straps seems well up to scratch. Only time will tell how the magnetic pouch cover stands up to repeated use but it is showing a promising start. The only thing that I could mention is that the photographs of how to attach the bino tethers are a little small to make out the fine details, although this may also be a function of my aged eyes............. All in all, I am very pleased with the product and the service provided by OV and wouldn't hesitate to recommend then to anyone else.
I purchased my first ridgetop harness about three years ago and put it through the ringer elk hunting and two seasons of whitetail. It has been subjected to every element know to man, throwing it in and out of a truck, walking threw briers and brush and it took it all. not a tare or fray. I purchased my second one to fit my bigger 12x binos. It to has seen an elk and whitetail season. If there is one piece of gear I always have whether scouting, checking trail cameras or just hiking its my harness and the ridgetop has proven to be a bomb proof option. Huge fan the forward open cover and the magnetic closers. They are deadly quite even in the extreme cold. Now I just need one in ranger green and gray!
Being that I primarily archery whitetail hunt , I tossed the idea of a harness around for a while not being able to decide . I'm glad I did, fits great no slop or hanging, haven't hunted it yet but shooting in the yard I actually forgot it was there after a few shots. Cant wait to get it dirty
By far the best harness i have every had and used dead silent to . High quality material will hold up to anything
